Keson Riley is een multidisciplinair kunstenaar die momenteel Beeldende Kunst studeert aan de HKU. Zijn werk richt zich op de verkenning van het onderbewustzijn en het creëren van werelden. Hij doet dit door middel van diverse kunstvormen, waaronder tekenen, video, geluid, performance, installatie en sculptuur. In Theater Branoul zal hij zijn werk in een andere ruimtelijke context presenteren. De theaterruimte biedt een brug voor verdere verkenning van presentaties en experimenten, waardoor hij kan creëren op het snijvlak van performance en theater.

Artist Statement

“Starting from intuitive drawings in black and white, I aim to create immersive worlds. My drawings, often made with black fine liner, charcoal and graphite on white paper, are intuitively drawn. As a result they remain open, both in composition and in meaning. This openness is deliberate, as they aren’t supposed to be artworks but materials.  They then lay a basis for sculptures, installations, videos and performances.”

Keson Riley is a multidisciplinary artist currently studying Fine Arts at the HKU. His work focuses on the exploration of the subconscious mind and world-making. Keson does this through a variety of art forms including drawing, video, sound, performance, installation and sculpture. At Theater Branoul he will be repositioning his work in a different space context. The theater space provides a bridge for further exploration of presentations and experiments.  Allowing him to create in the borders of Performance and Theatre.
